Tiny homes were big at this year’s Evergreen Spring Home Show in Monroe, WA.
Billed as the largest event of its kind in Snohomish County, the Evergreen Spring Home Show featured a plethora of home improvement products, services and ideas, with an emphasis on the trends and styles of the region.
Tiny homes of all kinds were prominent at the show, as cities from Bothell to Snohomish to non-incorporated rural areas in the county changed their building code to encourage ADUs and DADUs in both urban and rural settings. Buckley-based Seattle Tiny Homes featured both a traditional as well as modern style tiny home on wheels, while Better Built Barns featured its outbuildings and sheds, and Burlilngton’s Heritage Portable Buildings featured its modular cabins, sheds and outbuildings that can either be pre-built at then transported to your location or built on site.
Nurseries included Monroe-based West Coast Nursery, a woman-owned family nursery, which displayed many of its gorgeous field-grown plants and trees, and Snohomish-based Snohomish Gardens Nursery, a local plant and flower nursery specializing in perennials, annuals and wholesale cut flowers for weddings and other events.
There were a host of ideas for home improvement and remodeling, including tub-to-shower conversions that are a hot trend in the Pacific Northwest from exhibitors such as Oasis Bath Solutions. Alternative to full kitchen and bath remodels included Robinson Paints with a stunning example of how you can transform dated cabinets with paint, and Granite Transformation with its unique cabinet refacing and surface designs that can transform the look of your kitchen (as well as bathroom) with little to no demolition.
