Tiny homes, gardens and the latest home improvement ideas dominated the Tacoma Home & Garden Show as it celebrated its 42nd anniversary. This expanded show featured something for everyone, from locally made artisan ware, plants from local nurseries and the latest in roofing, remodeling and more.
One of the many things we like about this home and garden show is that it actually has garden plants and ideas, and this year’s show didn’t disappoint with a wide array of local nurseries, garden supplies and plants in its expanded plant market. Local companies such as The Potted Gardens showcased stunning examples of indoor and outdoor container gardening, suitable for homes, townhomes, condos and apartments. New exhibitor Killdeer Farms had a variety of its geraniums and other hardy plants on display, including scented geraniums ranging from lemon to chocolate. A stellar lineup of local garden experts including Ciscoe Morris and Marianne Binetti shared their insights on the garden stage to standing room only crowds.
On the home improvement and remodeling front, the show included tiny homes from Better Built Barns (including ADUs fully equipped as home offices and backyard entertainment oasis). New products included unique flush mount outdoor faucets that offer freeze protection (up to 30 degrees) during winter from Port Townsend-based Aquor (more about them in a future post).
